The installation features Kirchners black and white photographs mixed with Johanssons graphical, hand-sewn banners, is referring to gay club and cruising scene. Using codes from this subculture in a playful and smutty way, the result lands somewhere between a secret teen clubhouse and a raw techno dungeon.

The exhibition is accompanied by live dj sets by Massimiliano Pagliara (Berghain, Panorama Bar) and Luigi Di Venere (Cocktail d’Amore, Maximum Joy), inviting you to grab a drink and hang out with friends.

Robin Kirchner is a Berlin based photographer. He worked as the assistant of renowned fashion and people photographers Ali Kepenek and Marcus Höhn and studied Art and Photography in the class of Heidi Specker at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig.

Theodor Johansson is a mixed media artist working mainly with textile. Naïve expressions and frequent use of colors runs through his work signatured by playful creatures, banners and patchworks. Using crude expressions in technique and visualization, he emphasizes his inspiration from the DIY culture and the low brow aesthetics of the new wave/punk/hardcore scene of the 1980’s.
