DIE VERLOBUNG IN ST. DOMINGO

Vorstellung am 30. September 2011 um 18:30 Uhr

Auf der Insel St. Domingo, dem heutigen Haiti, um 1900, als die Schwarzen sich nach jahrelanger Ausbeutung erfolgreich gegen ihre weißen Herren auflehnen, gerät ein weißer Offizier auf der Flucht in das Haus eines Aufständischen. Dort wird er von dessen Geliebte und deren Tochter aufgenommen. Während die Alte Babekan ihn hinhält, um ihn an ihresgleichen auszuliefern, verlieben sich ihre Tochter Toni und der Fremde. Heimlich schmieden sie Fluchtpläne, doch der Hausherr kehrt früher als erwartet zurück, und das Drama beginnt.
Die Akteure sind Studierende aus Polen und Deutschland.
Nach der Novelle von H. v. Kleist / Theater Frankfurt / es spielen Gymnasiasten, Studenten, Schauspieler und Schauspielschüler der Stadt Frankfurt (Oder) und dem Collegium Polonicum / Musik: Christina Hohmuth, Thomas Strauch / Spielleitung: Frank Radüg / Spieldauer: ca. 60 min

On the island of St. Domingo, now Haiti, around 1900, when blacks successfully rebel against their white masters after years of exploitation, a white officer on the run ends up in the home of a rebel. There he is taken in by his mistress and her daughter. While the old woman Babekan stalls him in order to hand him over to her own kind, her daughter Toni and the stranger fall in love. They secretly make plans to escape, but the landlord returns sooner than expected, and the drama begins.
The actors are students from Poland and Germany.
Based on the novella by H. v. Kleist / Theater Frankfurt / performed by high school students, students, actors and drama students from the city of Frankfurt (Oder) and the Collegium Polonicum / music: Christina Hohmuth, Thomas Strauch / direction: Frank Radüg / duration: ca. 60 min
